Yes, social media works, I add 7-10 new patients a month to my practice using social media. Things may move quickly, but the CORE stays the same.
You see there are dozens of different social networks that you could become a part of, but most of us do not have the time to spend to be effective on all of them. The good thing is that there are so many options, you can pick 1 or 2 types of social networking that best fits you, your values and your practice.
Then simply incorporate those into your business. In 5-10 minutes a day you can be a part of your local community. Just by Twittering, emailing, posting on Facebook, you can say "hello" to your local community.
Listen, you only have to be more interesting than a postcard or a phone book ad to win business. For those naysayers, think of this, people would rather go to someone that they know, someone that is familiar. A picture in a phone book, cannot compete with you if you engage your community with social networking.
I actually have people stop me in stores and on the street because the recognize me from Facebook and Twitter. I've been on the local news twice because of Twitter.
Our new book teaches you how to have a plan, and implement the strategies that will best fit you and your practice.

Happy Holidays,

It's amazing how fast this technology moves. It may be part of the reason some practices hesitate to get involved. Social media is all about being genuine. Your motive is just be part of the community. It is a place where a practice can build and share their culture. Most of all, it can be fun.
